Slipping Gears

A transmission that is slipping can make it seem as though your engine is racing, even though the problem is a slipping transmission lagging behind. This is a common problem, but it’s difficult to diagnose due to the number of factors that can cause a transmission to act this way. Low fluid, poor vacuum and a defective shift cable are just a few reasons why your transmission might be slipping.

If your transmission is slipping, bring it to 2J’s Automotive today and let one of our highly trained professionals diagnose the problem for free.

Thanks for these information, but what about the car move to 25 mph and then not shifting?
    Kind regards

I would need to see the car before I can comment. This could be several things from electrical to internal damage.

2006 Acura TL 3.2; I had the transmission replaced. The car gave a code to have the APP sensor replaced. I replaced the APP sensor and filter. Installed a new battery with an oil change. A week later it started to slip. Car would go into drive and reverse but after a few minutes once the fluids reached a certain temperature the car would not go into drive or reverse. Allowed the car to sit for 10 minutes and I am able to place the car in drive and reverse once again. Place a tester and was given a code for the vacuum modulator. Will a bad vacuum modulator cause the tranny not to shift when heated?

Not actually but it sounds like you have a lot of trash in the pan if you even have a pan. It sounds like the filter is getting stopped up and restricting fluid flow. If you have a pan have it remved and check the contents.

2006 acura transmission does not have a pan, but there is a small filter that the fluid flows through that I can replace.
