Get Your Faulty Air Conditioner Fixed This Summer
A faulty or broken air conditioner is something no one in Texas looks forward to. If you think there is something wrong with your vehicle’s air conditioning unit then finding a fix for the problem as soon as possible would be the best thing to do.
If the Texas heat is beating you down then there are some things you can check for to narrow down what the problem might be. The more you familiarize yourself with the inner workings of your car the more helpful it will be to you and your mechanic.
Basically your car’s A/C unit operates similarly to a refrigerator in a weird way. It’s designed to move hot air from one area to another and in this case from inside the car to outside the car. As you can probably tell there are several opportunities for something to go wrong but if you learn more about the components you will have a better chance to identify the source of the problem.
The first thing you should do is check for signs that the air conditioning isn’t working the way it should. If the unit is blowing out warm air with the air conditioning on or it’s not blowing out air at all then that is a major red flag that something needs to be repaired or replaced.
Tip: It is illegal in most areas so put more refrigerant into systems known to have a leak since it releases it into the atmosphere.
Check for leaks and add refrigerant if necessary to see if that fixes the problem. If not then the compressor, valves or condenser may need to be looked at.
If you don’t feel comfortable enough to troubleshoot your own air conditioning unit bring it in to 2J’s Automotive so the expert mechanics can get your car to blow cold air once again. Bring your car in and get a free diagnostic test ($80 value) so they can narrow down the location of the problem.
